and it`s been raining a lot here in Edinburgh recently. Last week to top things off the haar sea fog descended on the capital. Coincidently the band haar were playing as part of a black metal-esque lineup of bands at the Banshee Labyrinth.

I arrived at the labyrinth as the first band, Run Off With Gypsies were finishing.

The next band, Solstheim were pretty awesome sounding with progressive cynic / mid 90s era Death bits thrown in. The crowd such as it was for such a small venue dropped off a bit for Haar`s set for which they brought a physical manifestation of their name in the form of a smoke machine. They seemed to be play a mix of stuff from their ep and new songs. Haar ca be seen live again in a few weeks time when they support A Forest of Stars and Wodensthrone at Stereo through in Glasgow.

The last band of the night was Wode who can best be described as WITR from MCR which is as awesome as it sounds.

The night was rounded off by an improvement in the beer selection – bottles of hobgoblin sighted  behind the bar.
